Physio Direct is a rural private practice that is currently seeking enthusiastic Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists to join their team in a permanent position or 6 month rotating positions between our clinics. This creates a great opportunity for you to live in multiple locations working with the same systems and colleagues but offering a change in area to maximise exploring this great country.
The positions are designed to rotate 6 monthly allowing you to see and explore another area of New Zealand. These positions provide an opportunity to blend an active outdoors lifestyle with a satisfying work life were you get to see the difference your input makes to people’s lives.
We currently have 10 clinics available in this rotating system at present.
Ohakune and Taumarunui, both located in the Central North Island. This is a stunning rural region that offers a fantastic lifestyle for those looking for fun and adventure. Home to the North Islands only ski fields, this region is bustling in the winter and comes alive in the summer with mountain biking, tramping, kayaking and fishing. These positions have shared accommodation in Ohakune.
Putaruru, Matamata (Hobbiton) and Te Aroha (the base of the Corromandel Peninsular) are all located in the Waikato region, . It’s the home to the NZ dairy industry, central to the North Islands main centres, most popular beaches, and world wide acclaimed tourist attractions also offers a fantastic lifestyle for those who seek adventure.
Rotorua and Ngongotaha, Rotorua is a fabulous city in the middle of the North Island, where it is the tourism capital. This city offers a perfect combination of world class attractions and stunning geothermal wonders. You can relax in the healing waters of a thermal spring, go fishing in one of the 14 lakes or Mountain Bike on our world renown tracks. There is action, adventure and relaxation opportunities everywhere, so plenty to see and do while you’re here.
Christchurch and Oxford, is the largest city in the South Island which is gateway to the Southern Alps, pristine beauty and stunning scenery. Following the 2010-2011 earthquakes, Christchurch has re-emerged as a vibrant, ever-changing city. Lonely Planet listed it as one of the top 10 cities to visit in 2013 and on The New York Times’s 52 Places to Go in 2014, Christchurch ranked no. 2.
Westport, in the West Coast region of the South Island of New Zealand. Westport was first a gold town and then a coal town. Westport is also a centre for outdoor adventures – jet boating, underground rafting, caving, white water rafting and kayaking. Scenic highlights include old coal towns, goldmining relics, forest hikes and coastal walks.
Experience in private practise with a background in manual therapy and exercise prescription is required along with the ability to work independently. The Applicant must have a current full drivers licence and be either registered or applying for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand.
A car is provided for use, with some allocation of personal use

APC (Annual Practising Certificate)
Four day working week.
All positions include musculoskeletal clinical work and also have a variety of return to work contracts which includes work site assessments and gym based strengthening programs in the sounding areas.
Excellent remuneration offered.
